Joyful Living Yoga DVD
Do I have to be flexible? Will it conflict with my religion? Will I get a workout, or do you just sit there? These are all questions that you may be thinking if you haven't tried yoga before. Before you push away an experience that may be just what you're searching for, let me try to clear these myths up for you.

Do I have to be flexible?

Flexibility is like learning a foreign language - if you don't use it, you lose it. So if it's been awhile since you've been active there's no better time than now to start on your journey to become flexible, in your body and in your mind.

Will it conflict with my religion?

Yoga isn't a religion, but it can help you become closer to your own spirituality. By calming the mind we can get below the surface of our daily lives and discover who we are and embrace the inherent divine within us.

Will I get a workout, or do you just sit there?

Yoga is so deceiving in it's simplicity. The moves can look so calming and easy that it doesn't look like anything's happening! But whether you're in a class with beginners or continuing students, yoga can be as much of a workout as you want it to be. There are as many different styles and levels of yoga as there are instructors. Ranging from restorative classes to power classes, there's something for everyone. If you try a class and don't feel as if you're getting what you need, please talk to the instructor afterwards for recommendations of other classes or to get one-on-one instruction to help you take your practice to the next level.
